Bail set at $1M for man accused of shooting police officer

The man accused of shooting a Metro Police officer last week had his bail set at $1 million.

Teag Fox, 38, appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court Tuesday morning.

He is facing charges of attempted murder with a deadly weapon on a police officer, battery with a deadly weapon on a police officer, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm on a police officer and discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

Metro Police officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call at the Emerald Suites on Las Vegas Boulevard when Teag approached Officer Gregory Sedminik, 52, and shot him, police said.

The shooting led to a manhunt that lasted several hours. Fox was later arrested in a Southern Highlands neighborhood.

The officer is expected to make a full recovery.

Report: OIS suspect asked officer, 'are you here to kill me?'

The man accused of shooting a Metro Police officer asked the officer a couple of questions that indicated he may have suffered from mental illness before he shot the officer, according to an arrest report released Monday.

The arrest report said when the officer responded to the domestic disturbance call, a man identified as Teag Fox, addressed him as he was walking towards the building.

According to the arrest report, Fox asked Officer Gregory Sedminik, "May I ask why you are here?" The report said the officer headed towards Fox to tell him and that's when Fox asked, "Are you here to kill me? Are you here to kill me," and then he told Officer Sedminik to "look up," before he shot him with a silver gun.

Woman killed in hit-and-run crash on Jones Blvd.

A woman was killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run crash on Jones Boulevard.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. near Post Road.

Police said, the woman was walking westbound on the side of the road when she was hit by an oncoming car.

The driver did leave the scene, but police were able to locate the car and arrest the driver.

Jones Boulevard is expected to be closed from Post Road to Patrick Lane for several hours Monday morning as police investigate... Read More

Police release mug shot of man accused of shooting officer

Metro Police released Friday the mug shot of the man accused of shooting a police officer near Las Vegas Boulevard and Pebble Road.

The suspect has been identified as 38 year-old Teag Fox.

Police said on Thursday at approximately 11:47 a.m., two LVMPD patrol officers were investigating a domestic disturbance call at 9145 South Las Vegas Boulevard when Fox approached one of the officers and made a comment. Before the officer was able to respond, Metro said Fox fired numerous rounds at the officer, striking him in the upper body.

The officer returned fire and the Fox immediately fled the scene. Law enforcement officers searched for more than five hours searching for FOX until the 32-year-old was caught leaving a residence in the Southern Highlands area. The gun used by Fox was also located, police said.

Metro: Man accused of shooting officer arrested

The search for a man who shot a Metro Police officer has ended and the suspect is in custody, according to Metro Police.

The suspect, who's identity hasn't been released, allegedly shot the officer just before noon at the Emerald Suites located at 9145 S. Las Vegas Boulevard between Pebble Road and Silverado Ranch Boulevard.

The officer was responding to a domestic violence call, and as he approached the scene, he encountered a man who immediately fired at him, police said.

The officer returned fire, and the suspect ran away from the scene.

He was on the run for about five hours.

The details of where the suspect was caught weren't released.
