Man arrested in connection to 2017 Roberto’s Taco Shop stabbing

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police have released the mug shot of Elbrixsth Arroyo, who was arrested in connection to a June 20, 2017, stabbing that occurred at a Roberto’s Taco Shop at 6650 Vegas Drive.

During that incident, one employee was stabbed approximately 17 times while another employee had been battered. At the time officers believed there were three suspects involved, two Hispanic males and one Hispanic female.

According to both victims, the three suspects entered the restaurant and after some time looking at the menu decided to place an order. One of the customers made a specific request to his order that was out of the ordinary and the employee explained to the customer that he could not accommodate the request. UPDATE: Police ID man arrested in Henderson burglary, shooting

HENDERSON (KLAS) — Police have identified 41-year-old Timothy Sledge as the suspect arrested earlier today in connection to a June 19 burglary and shooting in the 100 block of Ivy Street.

According to their media release, City of Henderson Police and Fire personnel responded to the 100 block of Ivy Street at 4:45 p.m. on June 19 in reference to a homeowner who walked into a burglary in progress and was shot by the suspect while within his residence.

The homeowner was located with an apparent gunshot wound and transported to Sunrise Trauma Center in Las Vegas where he remains in stable condition. ... Read More

Growing trend shows patients turning to marijuana to deal with PTSD

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — June 27 is PTSD Awareness Day. The purpose of the day is to bring issues related to Post-Traumatic Stress disorder to light. One of the big local proponents behind getting the message out is a local marijuana dispensary.

Nevada’s cannabis industry has its roots in medical marijuana, and as the budding industry continues to bloom, some dispensaries are noticing a growing trend of patients who are turning to the plant to help deal with post-traumatic stress.

“My friends were all going on this adventure that I kind of wanted to join on,” said Matt Koetting.

New Yorkers attempt Guinness World Record for longest feather boa in honor of WorldPride

A group of determined yet, joyous, colorful people tried to make it into the Guinness World Record Thursday. Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Times Square and Madame Tussauds New York hosted a special event to attempt the Guinness World Record title of the longest feather boa at 1.2 miles, which is the equivalent to nearly four times the length of the Empire State Building.

The event coincides with WorldPride and in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising. Ripley’s and Madame Tussaud’s New York officially revealed their rainbow feathered boa in Times Square.

Metro Police are investigating reports of a sexual assault near N. Tenaya Way and W. Alexander Road. According to police, it happened at Wayne Bunker Family Park.
