Peggy's Attic Taking in Donations for Kids in Need

Peggy's Attic at Child Haven is holding a donation drive to collect supplies for kids in need.

The charity is looking for new and gently used items. The items go to the kids who are transitioning from Child Haven to foster care or kinship care. They also go to children that are involved in the family court system. Especially, families that are in crisis.

The thing the charity needs the most is backpacks.

"There is a need out there. I have a lot of families come in, and I had one mom, in particular, was selling her plasma on a weekly basis in order to be able to put food on the table for the children," Audrie Rosenstein with Peggy's Attic said.

They are also accepting school supplies and personal hygiene products. When children are taken from their homes by the Department of Family Services, they are often without any personal items.

Child Haven gives them what they need and gives them a duffle bag filled with clothes, toys and other essentials when the transition to a new foster family.

Donations can be delivered to 701 North Pecos Road, which is at Pecos and Bonanza roads.
