CAI Nevada Accepting Nominations for Annual Heroes Awards

The Nevada chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), a national membership organization for HOA management companies, volunteer board members, professional service providers and business partners, is hosting its annual Heroes Awards to honor everyday individuals who have displayed acts of bravery and community mindedness in the spirit of 9/11.

The Heroes Awards originated in 2002 from an overwhelming desire to remember those lost and to recognize those involved in the relief efforts of 9/11. It is now an annual commemorative event for CAI Nevada. The organization is issuing a call for nominations in the following categories:

  • 9/11
  • Community Service Volunteer
  • Fire Department/Police Department/First Responders/Medical and Social Services
  • Outstanding Community Service Volunteer
  • Life Saving
  • Military
  • Northern Nevada Outstanding Citizen/Organization
  • Southern Nevada Outstanding Citizen/Organization
  • Youth/Juvenile

Nominations are due June 1, and forms can be found by visiting www.cai-nevada.org, under “Events” and “Heroes Luncheon.” Winners will be honored during a chapter luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino.

“This year marks the 10th anniversary of 9/11, and CAI is excited to honor the brave men and women who make our community a better place to live,” said Mary Rendina, executive director of CAI Nevada.
