Police Search for Robbery Suspect

Metro Police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at a store on December 13.

The suspect walked into the store near Craig Road and North Lamb Boulevard just before 10 p.m. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and a goalie mask. Police say the suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. At that point, the robber became distracted and the clerk was able to walk behind bullet-proof glass. The suspect fired a shot at him demanding the clerk come out from behind the glass and open the till. The clerk refused. The suspect then tried to rob a customer, but ended up leaving the customer's wallet on the floor. The suspect did not get away with any money.

Police are now not only looking for the suspect but also for the female victim. She is not suspected in the robbery, but police would like to speak with her. The suspect is described as a black man between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10. He is between 160 and 180 pounds. Besides the black jacket and goalie mask, the suspect was wearing a blue and white horizontal-stripe polo shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the female victim is asked to call Metro’s Robbery Section at 828-3591, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
