Police Looking for Driver in Hit-and-Run Crash

Metro Police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road.

According to police, 57-year-old Stanley Woosley was crossing Lake Mead from south to north, outside of a crosswalk. A pickup truck heading eastbound on Lake Mead Boulevard hit Woosley.

The pickup truck driver left the scene of the crash and the pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The truck is described as a mid-size, dark-colored pickup, possible a Ford, with moderate damage to the front end. The first three characters on the license plate were 563. The state of the license plate is not known.

Police Look for Men in Store Robbery

Metro Police are looking for two men who robbed a business near Las Vegas Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue.

According to police, at around 1 p.m. Feb. 1, the two men held an employee at gunpoint and demanded money. The employee gave them money, and the men left.

The first man is described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old. He is about 6 foot and between 150 and 180 pounds. He has a moustache and glasses. He was wearing a black hoodie and was armed with a handgun.

The second man is described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old. He is about 6 foot and between 140 and 160 pounds. He has also as a moustache. He has had a handgun. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

Man Arrested in Connection with Murder in December

A Las Vegas man is under arrest nearly a month after an arrest warrant was issued for him in connection with a murder.

Metro Police arrested Jessie Charles Washington Monday on charges of murder with use of a deadly weapon and conspiracy to violate uniform controlled substances act.

According to police, Washington shot and killed Anthony Walker on Dec. 22, following an argument over a drug deal. Walker was going to sell Washington marijuana but they got into an argument, police said.

Walker was shot and killed in his garage at his home near Hollywood Blvd. and Carey Ave.

Police Search for Man and Woman Who Robbed Store

Metro Police are looking for a man and a woman who robbed a store near Charleston Boulevard and Christy Lane.

According to police, the pair walked into the store at around 6:40 p.m. Jan. 3. The man pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money. While the employee was trying to give the man money, he pressed the gun into the face of a female customer and demanded her belongings.

Meanwhile, the female grabbed money from the register. They were last scene heading west from the store.

The man is described as a black male between 20 and 23 years old. He is 5 foot 11 and between 150 and 170 pounds. He has brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, a black baseball cap with a white symbol on the front, a purple bandana over his face and dark gloves.

Police Searching for Hooded Robbers

Metro Police are searching for three gunman who robbed a convenience store near Owens Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.

According to police, the robbery happened at around 8 p.m. Nov. 13. The three men entered the business and robbed it using guns, police said. Several shots were fired during the robbery.

All three of the men were wearing dark clothes, coats with hoods and one was wearing a mask.

Suspect Accused of Beating Woman with Hammer

A Las Vegas man is under arrest and charged with attempted murder after hitting a woman with a hammer.

Police arrested Desmond Stewart, 25 of Las Vegas on attempted murder, battery, two counts of domestic violence-strangulation and coercion by force.

According to Metro Police, the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at an apartment near Craig Road and Nellis Boulevard.

Police say officers were called to the apartment complex on a report that a woman had been beaten with a hammer. When they arrived, witnesses told officers that the suspect and the victim were in a nearby Wal-Mart parking lot.

Officers found Stewart and the victim, Shauntejia Dupree, who was covered in blood.

Police Looking for Man Who Kidnapped and Robbed Woman

Metro Police are looking for a man who kidnapped and robbed a woman earlier this month.

According to police, the man approached the woman in the area of East Charleston and Bruce Street at around 2 p.m. Oct. 15, asking for change. When she told him she didn't have any, he pulled out a gun, forced the victim to get into her car and move to the passenger's seat.

The man then drove around and found a bank. He took the victim's ATM card and withdrew money, drove a few blocks away and ran.

The man police are looking for is described as an Hispanic male in his 40s, 5 foot 5 and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
