$4 Dog and Cat Adoptions at Shelter's "Petriotic" Weekend

The summer months can be a perfect time to welcome a new family member, and the Animal Foundation is offering great deals for the holiday weekend.

From Thursday to Sunday, the Animal Foundation is celebrating Independence Day with $4 adoption fees on all pets that have been waiting for homes for more than three weeks.

The Animal Foundation’s “Petriotic Weekend” celebrates longtime residents and shelter officials believe more than 60 dogs, cats, and other pets will qualify for the deal.

During the summer months, the shelter can receive more than 200 lost, unwanted, and abandoned animals each day. While some pets are quickly adopted, shelter staff hope this event will encourage people to take a closer look at some of the pets that have been waiting.
