Family Forced Out by Fire

A garage fire forced a family of six out of their home Thursday afternoon. The fire started around 1:30 p.m., at a home near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Mt. Hood Street.

Clark County firefighters responded and kept the flames from spreading to the house. One adult in the house was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The Red Cross is now assisting the three adults and three children displaced by the fire.

The fire damage estimate is $10,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
