First Tuesday Focuses on Stopping Sexual Predators

Parents will get a chance to learn how to protect their children from sexual predators at Tuesday night’s First Tuesday meeting.

Metro Police holds an open-house meeting on the First Tuesday of every month at all of its area command centers around the city. This Tuesday’s topic is preventing child sexual assault. The topic was chosen because April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Detectives from Metro Police’s Sexual Assault Unit will visit the command centers to talk to parents about the dangers of social media and the preventative measures parents can use to protect their kids.

Following the presentation, people can ask questions about and bring up specific issues about their neighborhood with the police. The event starts at 7 p.m.
