Luis Lopez-Solis

LAS VEGAS - The Clark County Coroner's office has identified the body found Thursday near Flamingo Road and Stephanie Street as 31-year-old Luis Lopez-Solis of Las Vegas.

Lopez-Solis, who is also known as Calletano Lopez, was swept away in a wash, while working in Tuesday's violent thunderstorm.

The 38-year-old Lopez leaves behind a wife, an unborn son and other relatives. Family members say they are heartbroken. His wife Victoria is now trying to face the reality of her husband's death.

"It's just something I can't express," she said in Spanish.

She is six months pregnant and has spent much of the past few days at the search site near the Desert Rose Golf Course where he husband had been working when he disappeared.

An employee of Par 3 Landscape and maintenance, the company Lopez worked for, discovered Lopez's body Thursday afternoon.

Co-workers and volunteers of Red Rock Search and Rescue worked for hours to try and locate Lopez's body.

"We filtered information from the water district on water currents and water height in certain areas and we made a prediction of an area and we worked that area over and over again," said Dave Cummings, Red Rock Search and Rescue.

Cummings said crews focused on an area near Flamingo Road near Stephanie Street. Rescuers had to dig through thick brush and debris to recover the Lopez's body.
