Checkpoint Planned for Friday Evening | News
Metro Police will be looking for impaired drivers during a checkpoint event set for Friday night.
The checkpoint will be set up along Lamb Boulevard south of Charleston Boulevard from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The area was chosen because of the high number of accidents involving impaired drivers that have happened there.
Officers will be out in force looking for people who are driving drunk or who are impaired by drugs. They want to get people off the road before they're involved in a crash.
Metro said it is part of an effort to reduce the number of DUI incidents on southern Nevada roads. So far this year, there have been 39 fatal accidents in Metro's jurisdiction.
