LAS VEGAS - A 10-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Monday after a vehicle hit him near Owens Avenue and Lamb Boulevard.

The crash happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. Police say a Lincoln Navigator was traveling west on Owens near Linnbaker Lane, when the boy and another juvenile crossed Owens. Police say the juveniles were not in a marked crosswalk.

Police say the driver of the Lincoln tried to avoid them, but struck the 10-year-old. The other juvenile fled the area.

Emergency crews took the boy to University Medical Center in serious condition. Police say the driver of the Lincoln remained on scene and was arrested for suspected DUI.
