PD: Fire inside home reveals marijuana grow house
News

LAS VEGAS — Firefighters called Metro Police early Tuesday after discovering a grow house inside a burning home.

The fire began around 3:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Looking Glass Lane, near East Bonanza Road and North Sloan Lane, in the northeast part of the city.

According to police, firefighters "found items that made them believe the house was used to grow marijuana."

Inside the home, detectives said they found 77 growing plants, 43 pounds of finished,  "ready for sale" marijuana, 45 pounds of shake, 22.7 grams of cocaine, and four firearms.

Two adults, both men, were inside the home at the time of the fire and drove themselves to the hospital, police said.

No arrests have been made, but police said the men were served with a Marcum Notice, which indicates the District Attorney will take the case to a grand jury, and are expected to be charged at a later time.
