LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police have arrested a driver who they say was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Las Vegas early Sunday morning.
Investigators say Ismael Moreno, 49, was on East Sahara Avenue outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a pickup truck around 3:25 a.m.
The pedestrian was knocked down and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver fled the scene in what witnesses described as a small, two-door pickup with white paint and a damaged left headlamp.
According to police, the attorney of a woman identified as Samantha McLeod, 24, contacted police Sunday afternoon and McLeod was booked into Clark County Detention Center on a felony hit and run charge.
