The Animal Foundation Hosts Mega Match-a-Thon | Pets

The Animal Foundation is hosting an American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Mega Match-a-Thon Event this weekend.

The adoption event will include volunteers to help people find their perfect pet. All adopted dogs and cats will get a free collar, a personalized ID tag and five pounds of food. New owners will also get four tickets to The Animal Foundation 9th Annual Best in Show event.

The Mega Match-a-Thon is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at The Animal Foundation campus, 655 North Mojave Road. The shelter is hoping to double the number of pets adopted from the same weekend last year.

Spring is the start of the high-intake season at the shelter. Organizers want as many animals adopted this weekend as possible to make room for the influx of pets this spring and summer.

There will also be several food trucks parked at the shelter both Saturday and Sunday.
