The second phase of a trail project will move forward with a ground breaking for a new pedestrian bridge.

Las Vegas City Councilman Bob Coffin will break ground on the bridge Thursday. The bridge will allow people to cross Lamb Boulevard at the Las Vegas Wash Trail, which is near Lamb Blvd. and Washington Ave.

When finished, people will be able to cross the busy street and continue onto the wash trail. The trail will eventually be 18 miles long and connect to more than 200 miles of trails around the Las Vegas valley.

Funding for the project is coming from the sale of public lands in the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act.
