Taxpayers who may have difficulty scheduling a visit to an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center during normal weekday business hours can visit the Las Vegas office at 110 City Parkway from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to get free tax assistance.

Help with account questions, such as collection or examination issues, is also available during Open House. In some instances, virtual assistance will be offered, as taxpayers will be assisted over the telephone by IRS employees who are working in other offices around the country. 

"We know some people are facing challenging economic times and we want to provide extra assistance on these Saturdays," IRS Spokesman Raphael Tulino said. "Our goal is to help them get what they need from the IRS."

In addition to the normal array of services, limited help preparing tax forms is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
