Community Centers Offering Volleyball Leagues

New volleyball leagues are forming at several community and sports centers run by the city of Las Vegas.

The Dula Gymnasium at 441 East Bonanza Road will host an adult league for men and women 18 years and old. The games will start Sept. 25. League play will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday nights. Team registration is $100. For more information, call (702) 229-6307.

Mirabelli Community Center at 6200 Hargrove Avenue is offering a coed adult volleyball league from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday nights, starting Sept. 25. Team registration is $150 per team, with a $10 referee fee per game. For more information, call (702) 229-6359.

Stupak Community Center at 251 West Boston Avenue is registering teams for a men's four on four league that will play from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is $100 and is open to ages 16 years and older. There will be no referee fees.

The center is also offering free volleyball classes for middle and high school girls Monday and Fridays from 4 to 6 p.m. The classes are sponsored by the Police Athletic League of Southern Nevada. Chuck Minker Sports Complex at 275 North Mojave Road is already offering a women's volleyball league. The center's next league will open registration in December. Play will be from January 9 through March 6. Team registration will be $120 with a $10 per game fee. For more information, (702) 229-6563.
