The Animal Foundation is celebrating a record-setting weekend for animal adoptions.
The shelter held an open house and special adoption weekend, which started Friday. The shelter had set a goal of 100 adoptions by the end of the weekend. They were able to hit that goal by the time the shelter closed on Saturday evening. By the end of the event, 139 animals found a forever home.
The foundation offered a $50 discount on the fees to adopt older dogs and cats. The specials brought in several people looking to adopt a new friend at the main campus on Mojave Road and at the location inside the PetSmart on Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the results from this weekend,” says Meghan Scheibe, Marketing and PR Manager for The Animal Foundation. “The shelter was so busy with people opening their hearts and homes to our four-legged residents, including some of our amazing, older pets. We couldn’t be happier! It was a record-setting weekend!”
The shelter also had a special for the owners of Chihuahuas. The first 100 to come to the shelter were given a voucher for a free spay or neuter for their pet.
