Free Tax Help for Seniors and Lower-Income People
Seniors and lower-income people needing help preparing their income tax returns can find free help at City of Las Vegas senior centers through April.
Volunteers from AARP will offer residents age 50 and older free assistance with personal income tax form preparation and electronic filing at four city active adult and senior centers beginning in February.
Participants in the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will offer similar free help to Nevada residents at the Doolittle Senior Center starting Feb. 19.
Income restrictions will apply to qualify for assistance. Advance appointments are required at all locations. Bring a copy of your 2011 income tax return and all of your applicable 2012 paperwork to the appointment. Call a center below between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays to schedule an appointment:
